What is the transfer button under domains?

The Transfers button under the domains section of the 1&1 Control Panel is used to control all domain transfers.
By selecting this button you will receive two choices. The first choice Lock/Unlock can be used to lock or unlock
a selected domain. A domain name that is unlocked can be transferred away from 1&1. The second choice
Start Transfer allows you to start a new domain name transfer to 1&1.
