What is the standard DNS setup?


Domains registered with 1&1 have the following settings:
1&1 Name servers.
1&1 Mail Servers.
Automatic IP Routing to 1&1 Web space.

External Domains:
Mail Servers are chosen in the add on process. You will have a choice to stay with
your current mail servers or choose 1&1 Mail Servers.

Root Server Domains:
Routed to the standard IP of your Root server.

This way we ensure that the domain is registered properly. (Domain registrations
are rejected when the name servers are set up incorrectly.)
Although a few Registrars allow 13 name servers, 4 are more than enough.
