Moving Backups to and from FTP backup space

Once you've successfully created all the backups, you will then be able to upload them to the FTP backup space we provide. This can typically be done using the “ftp” command. Once you've re-imaged the server to Cent OS, you can then download the backups and begin the restore process. Plesk can directly upload files to your FTP backup space, as long as you've setup Plesk in this way, you shouldn't need to manually upload the Plesk backups.

Replace the below URL with your actual backup server information:

ftp backup1234.onlinehome-server.info

Enter your username and password when prompted Once you're at the ftp> prompt, you can use the “put” command to upload files. e.g:

put myfiles.tar.gz

To retrieve the files, repeat the same process but use “get” instead of put, e.g:

get myfiles.tar.gz

If your server does not have ftp backup space, you can upload these files to any other FTP space, or transfer them to your home computer using any variety of methods (such as placing the backup files in a web-accessible place on your server.) Most of our dedicated server products offer the option to purchase additional FTP Backup space if you do not have any or have ran out of space.
