How can I setup the free SSL Certificate?1. Log in to the 1&1 Control Panel at: https://admin.1and1.com If you have only one package, you will land on the Administration page. If you have more than one package, select the relevant package to reach its Administration page. 2. Select SSL Certificate from the Server Administration section. ![]() 3. Click Setup. ![]() 4. Choose the domain for which you want to assign the SSL certificate to. Also enter www if you want the SSL Certificate assigned to http://www.your_domain.com. Click Next. ![]() 5. This is the most important step. If you are using 1&1 MailServers, an e-mail address named ssladmin@your_domain.com will be created. If you are using your default MailServer or external MailServers, then you will be prompted to create an e-mail address named ssladmin@your_domain at the other end. A confirmation e-mail will be to this address. You will have to click the link that is sent in the confirmation e-mail. Click Download and save your private key in a safe place. This is the only time you can get your Private key. This key is not stored anywhere in our system due to security reasons. ![]() 6. Check the box near I saved the private key on my computer. I am also aware that this private key cannot be reordered and it is not saved by 1&1 and click Next. ![]() 7. After reading the Terms & Conditions, check the box and click Order. ![]() 8. A confirmation is displayed. |
