Safe entrance with SSH and safe data communication with SCP.

Secure Connection over SSH
When your root server is first set up SSH has been pre-configured. You can log on
to your server using an SSH client such as PuTTY. This will give you a console
window to your root server.
You can download PuTTY for free. It is a basic windows program.

Secure data communication over SCP
FTP Protocols are very useful, especially if you have large data sets over an
uncertain connection to your root server. These protocols are used for all the
data, web pages and public data (e.g. SuSE FTP server).

If you would like to transmit data with SCP to your root server, you can use
free programs like Secure of iXplorer GPL or WinSCP
(see: Secure of iXplorer web page or WinSCP web page). With
these programs you can transfer files comfortably by Drag'n'Drop from your
computer at home coded to your root server.
