How to switch to standard Fedora Core 4 Kernel on a Root Server

By default, Linux Root Servers use a Debian kernel. Instructions on installing the kernel
source follow.

You can use the default Fedora Core kernel if you wish, simply use /boot/vmlinuz.old instead
of /boot/vmlinuz in /etc/lilo.conf, change default=lx to default=lxserold. Don’t forget
to run lilo from a root prompt to update the boot configuration after changing the lilo.conf
file.
