Default Mail Server:

The e-mail for the domain name will use your dedicated server as the mail server. You will need to
create the e-mail accounts on the server and not the 1&1 Control Panel.

How do I setup an e-mail account on a Linux Server in Plesk?

1&1 Mail Server:

The e-mail for this domain name will use the 1&1 mail server. Once you set this choice for the
domain you will then want to setup e-mail accounts in the e-mail section of the 1&1 Control Panel.

How do I create a new e-mail account using the 1&1 Mail server?

Other Mail Server:

You will be given four input fields to add in the mail servers of your choice. Each server can be
custom, where you type in the address and the priority. You can also chose to have the Backup Mail
Exchange as the last two records so that if the other mail server goes down, mail will be delivered
to the 1&1 mail Server. If you choose this you would want to make sure you setup e-mail accounts
in the e-mail section of the 1&1 Control Panel to receive these e-mails.
